Nice drive to get here coming from Blacktown just take Mulgoa road from Penrith.
Leading up to the dam there's plenty of free parking and an open field where you could play ball games or something maybe even have a picnic. There's a vistor and information building where they have exhibits of the history and construction of the dam. As well a lecture room playing informative videos of the dams working function and history. Walking across the dam is available but at certain times only so best to inquire directly. There are no kiosks, bring your own drinks and food if planning to have a picnic.

Visited this place 1 or 2 years ago when the visitor center was closed (due to covid). Visited it again today and everything was great. Appreciate the effort put into the informative visitor center (super clean restroom too). Walked down very near to the dam for amazing views too. Everything was just perfect!

We decided last minute to travel from Inner West to Warragamba Dam for an afternoon out with the family. I'm so glad we did - we really enjoyed learning more about Sydney's vital infrastructure. The visitor centre was pretty cool. The staff here gave my two daughters an activity pack to work through. Hubby and I had to wait ever so patiently for them to finish their colouring in before we could venture beyond the centre. Alas, we missed being able to walk over the dam... but our girls got a bead toy for their colouring in efforts. We will be back as have plans to do a picnic or BBQ here next time so will get the chance to walk over the dam then.

Bonus for our visit... we saw some kangaroos hanging around the park in front of the visitor centre.

What a awesome place to come and visit, you can take great photos of the Dam from the multabal viewing decks but walking on the Dam itself is only allowed on weekends, also there's a visitors centre/museum and sheltered picnic tables around place.
